’tis the season! Here at House on the Hill we are literally counting down the days till Santa arrives. It’s hard to believe that another year has passed . . . but passed it has, and as the thermometer outside indicates, we’re getting deeper into winter by the minute.
I love Christmas time. From the tree lighting in the Common to hauling our Christmas tree up four (yes, four) flights of stairs – I get totally geeked out by all of it. There are some pretty swell decorations around the neighborhood and downtown this year.
I am super into wreaths – they’re an inexpensive and easy way to get into the holiday spirit. This one was a couple of blocks down from us. I love the inner ring of berries.
I’m dying over these! They’re gorgeous and were also a few blocks down from us. These make a huge statement on double doors and look like they’d be easy to make. Next year! In the meantime, Plow and Hearth has a pretty good looking alternative:
I spotted this decorated entryway downtown the other day. So simple, but so pretty.
I was dying to get candles this year for our windows. There are a couple of houses on the street that look so lovely all lit up. Time got away from me though and so it will have to wait until next Christmas. I love these candles from Brookstone. They’re cordless and fit underneath your window to stay in place, if you don’t have big windowsills.
Christmas Loft has a slightly cheaper version with a cord if Brookstone’s “light sensors” sound a little questionable to you.
Now, to get back to my Christmas shopping . . .
